Vince Bevilacqua
I live and work in Arizona as a hardware engineer for a robotics company. I have my bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and my masters in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Controls. In the past, I’ve worked in the aerospace and semiconductor industries from which I’ve built a wide breadth of expertise ranging from mechanical design, analysis, and qualification of highly complex space-flight hardware to printed circuit board layout and manufacturing.
I always love learning new skills and it could be said that my number one hobby is collecting new projects but here is a sample list of things I love learning, doing, reading about, etc.
- Mechanical CAD Modeling & Design
- Solidworks is my mother tongue
- I have been putting reps into FreeCAD & Onshape
- 3D Printing
- FDM for accessibility and iteration speed
- SLA for precision and when tolerances need to be tight (but not robust)
- Circuit Design and PCB layout
- Some simple animatronic controller boards
- Hacking Conference badge SAO
- Everything else is done manually on perf-board with wire strippers and patience
- Python Coding
- I love how easy & versatile matplotlib is for visualizing data
- Almost everything I do in numpy
- pytorch for the really intense ML stuff
- have been experimenting with vibe coding workflows for spinning up really simple python servers & web interfaces
- Misc Coding/Computers
- Some C/C++ here and there for trying to cram edge ML into tiny microcontrollers
- I compulsively spin up Linux servers on old machines
- kOS Kerboscript for fun
- Robotics
- I have a few autonomous system irons in the fire for experimenting and playing around with my own autonomous platforms (for fun)
